A Visiting Fellow from Shenyang Agricultural University in China

Dr Shijun Sun, a visiting fellow from Shenyang Agricultural University in China, will be working with A/Professor Ian Acworth for one year (from June 2005 to May 2006) at the Manly Vale Water Research Laboratory, a specialist centre within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of New South Wales.

Dr Sun is the Director of the Teaching and Research Section of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering in the Faculty of Water Conservancy at the Shenyang Agricultural University. His research areas include investigation of groundwater resources, water resources planning and evaluation and groundwater modelling.

The Water Research Laboratory (WRL) is a leading international research and consulting laboratory. It can best be described as an expert problem solver in the areas of water, coastal and environmental engineering and groundwater. Dr Sun is delighted to join the WRL research group and believes that an ongoing linkage between research groups in China and Australia will be developed through is time there.
